Luftwaffe 2nd pattern dagger With Hangers by Alcoso, Solingen

The handle of the dagger is cover in a light polished yellow & a diagonal spiral running from top left to bottom right.

The pommel consists of a swastika sign engulfed by a wreath and the pattern repeats on the reverse.

The ferrule has a wreath design which repeats itself and below it is located an emblem of the Nazi eagle over a swastika sign.

The blade has been stamped with a “Alcoso A C S” and “Solingen” manufacturer stamp.

The scabbard is of metal construction. Metal fittings are found at the throat and mid-section. These have suspension rings which attach the hanger to the dagger.

The chape has a wreath design which repeats on each side. A clip is found at the end of the hangers.

*Dimensions*

The blade has a length of 10 inches (25.5 cm). The dagger has a full length of 15 ½ inches (38.5 cm), 17 inches (43 cm) when placed in its scabbard. It weighs 380g.

*Condition*

There is general wear to most of the metal work, including a few scratches and minor loss of enamel.

The blade is fairly scratched but clean.

There are some minor signs of rust on the blade but the dagger is in good order.
