A large fine oil painting depicting two daughters of the British Tory politician William Lacon Childe (1700 – 1757).

The two daughters Catherine and Anne are pictured wearing fine silk robes, the younger daughter upon a cushion with a view of the countryside in the background. The view is most likely from the terrace of their home, Kinlet Hall in Shropshire.

The painting is not signed.

It is presented in an attractive period frame.

~ Dimensions ~

The frame measures 1.2m (47 inches) by 1.45m (57 inches).

~ Condition ~

There are some minor issues to the painting, some tiny chips of paint and the odd scratch to the image, but no significant issues and no damage.

The frame has some wear (see images) but is in reasonable condition for its age.

~ William Lacon Childe  ~

William Lacon Childe (3 March 1700 – 1757) of the Birch, Kinlet, Shropshire was a British Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1727 to 1734

He married Catherine Pytts, daughter of Samuel Pytts MP of Kyre, Worcestershire and together had three daughters.

The resided in Kinlet Hall, Shropshire
