~ John Hill Toy Soldiers Set 141 – Scots Highlanders ~
The John Hill of England set – “The Highland Brigade” – is comprised of eight Highlanders all depicted in various headgear & poses – charging, kneeling and prone.
The set is housed within the “The Highland Brigade” label illustrated box.
The set dates to around 1950/60.

John Hill & Company or Johillco were a British toy company specialising in the manufacture of hollowcast metal and later plastic toy soldiers becoming second to W. Britain in popularity.
They were active from 1898 until the 1960’s.
~ Dimensions ~
The box has a length of 14.7 inches (37.5 cm), a width of 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) and a height of 1.5 inches (3.8 cm).
Each soldier has an approx. height of 3.5 inches (8.9 cm).
The set weighs 305 g.
~ Condition ~
There is some minor paint wear but the set remains in generally otherwise good condition. The box has no insert but is in good order; a nibble to one of the lid end edges causing slight loss to the main label. The lid label is in otherwise excellent order.
