~ Japanese Edo Period Boxwood Netsuke of a Rat or Mouse in a Barrel ~

A Japanese hand-carved boxwood netsuke from the Edo period (1603 to 1868) of a rat (or mouse) with a corn cob in a section of barrel.

The netsuke is beautifully carved with plenty of detail and has the usual two holes to the edge.

~ Dimensions ~

The netsuke has a diameter of 4cm with a depth of 2.5cm

It weighs 18.6g

~ Condition ~

There is some damage to the edge of the barrel but otherwise the netsuke is in good condition.
