1929 Italian NCO Sabre, manufactured at the Gnutti Arsenal in Brescia, Northern Italy. Known as "La sciabola Modello 1929 per armi a piedi," this sabre was issued to infantry sergeants during the Ethiopian conflict and remained in use throughout World War II, including the Russian campaign.
The blade is single-edged with a narrow fuller running below a flat spine, ending in a clipped point. The hilt features a distinctively Italian design, with a grip and pommel reminiscent of earlier classical French swords.
The sabre is accompanied by its original blackened steel scabbard, fitted with twin suspension rings.
The Gnutti Arsenal in Brescia, Northern Italy, was a prominent arms manufacturer known for producing high-quality weaponry for the Italian military. Used condition. Considerable rusting on all metal work. The sword sheathes and draws smoothly. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
