~ Inert British First World War Hales No. 20 Mk 2 Rifle Grenade ~

The No. 20 is similar to the No. 3 grenade, but its main difference is that it lacks the No 3's vane.

The No 20. has two variants, the Mk I and II. The Mk I has a solid steel cylinder body very similar to the No 3, while the Mk II uses a weld-less steel tube and has circumferential grooves for fragmentation.

The grenade body is made of steel, its fittings are of brass and brass over copper and the stick of steel surrounded by a copper film.

There are no other marks except two broad arrows on the brass filling plug screw.

~ Dimensions ~

The grenade length is 17.5 inches (44.3 cm) and it weighs is 490 grams.

~ Condition ~

The grenade is in excellent condition for its age.

Some of the copper finish has worn away particularly on the rod but the overall appearance of the grenade is decent.
