An attractive hunting short sword with stag horn grip mounted in brass and fluted shell guard. The single edged steel blade is profusely etched both sides with hunting scenes complete with brass mounted leather scabbard. The blade has been modified for an alternative use with a hole and small cutaway possible to use for part of a shearing implement, this was quite common in post war Germany.
*Condition*
The dagger and scabbard are in okay condition considering its age. The grip is well preserved. The blade has some pitting and the etching is fade somewhat. The brass on the scabbard is in good condition and the leather has some small cracking. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
