The letters are made from chromed bronze letters, outlined in red, and are mounted onto a wooden board.

~ HMS Cardiff ~

HMS Cardiff (D108) was a Royal Navy Type 42 Destroyer. She was the third ship to adopt the name.

The ship was built by Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering & launched on the 22nd of February 1974, commissioned on the 24th of September 1979 and decommissioned on the 14th of July 2005.

She has two battle honours, one in the Falkland Islands in 1982 and the other in Kuwait 1991.

~ Condition ~

The wooden board remains in good condition, other than a few minor scratches and chips. The wall mounts are secured nicely. The letters are well polished but again have a few minor scratches. The red surface paint adorning the edges of the letters has chipped away in some parts. Overall it is in excellent condition for its age and history.

~ Dimensions ~

The board has a length of 43 inches (109 cm), a height of 9 inches (23 cm) and a depth of 3 inches (7.5 cm). It weighs 16.5 Kg.
