~ Hand Coloured Antique Map Of Berkshire By Robert Morden From Camdens Britannia c1695 ~

A 17th century map of Berkshire by Robert Morden from William Camden's Britannia (1695 - 1772) the first chorographical survey of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland.

The printed map has been hand painted in watercolours to highlight the various borders.

Reads to lower edge ‘Printed for Abel Swall and Awnsham & John Churchill’.

The map is mounted and presented in a glazed, gilt frame.

~ Dimensions ~

The exposed area of the map measures 43cm (17 inches) by 36.5cm (14 ¼ inches.

 The frame measures 58.5cm (23 inches) by 52cm (20 ½ inches).

The framed map has a total weight of 2.35 Kg

~ Condition ~

The map has a central crease and a couple of other light creases. There is evidence of some water damage but the staining is quite light. There are one or two other small marks.

Overall the map is in a nice condition with no major issues.

 The frame is in good order.
