Constructed of a card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages lightly filled with handwritten and stamped entries, retaining a certified photo of the bearer in civil dress measuring 3.8cm x 5.1cm, in extremely fine condition. Book measures 10.6cm x 14.8cm. Shows his personal information (p4), approved for military service (p5), his leave record for military meetings (p39) - 1942, and his Leave record (p41) for 1937, 1940.
The military passport was issued to all male citizens subject to military service during the National Socialist era following the introduction of compulsory military service . The suitability was noted there along with other personal information. The document remained with the owner and had to be used to identify oneself to the military authorities. If the conscript was actually drafted, the passport was handed over to the responsible unit. In the event of death, the military record was sent to the relatives.
