~ Nazi German WW2 Red Cross Hewer Dagger ~

This is a fine WW2 period Red Cross hewer dagger example by maker Ges. Geschutzt. The maker`s mark is concealed on the blade beneath the lower guard.

This very well preserved piece is complete and comes with its original scabbard.

The piece is metallic with a black painted handle and scabbard and silver coated fittings.

The cross piece is ornamented with an emblem marked “Eagle with Swastika over the Red Cross”.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 10 ½ inches (27 cm) and the overall length of the dagger in its scabbard is 16 inches (41 cm).

It weighs 820g.

~ Condition ~

The blade has some pitting but is mostly free from damage.

The grip has some light scratches but it presents well.

The scabbard shows some loss of paint but is free from any nicks and rust.

The dagger fittings show some signs of erosion but the item has aged well.
