*German, WW2, P.08 Luger Holster, Black Leather, Dated 1941, by E.G. Leuner GmbH, Bautzen, Waffenamt Marked*

A standard pattern German P.08 Luger hardshell holster in blackened leather, retaining its original buckle and closure strap. The rear is stamped with “P.08” and what appears to be a three-line maker’s code with date “1941,” together with a Waffenamt eagle acceptance mark. The maker looks like E.G. Leuner GmbH of Bautzen, a known contractor for Luger and P.38 holsters, though the impression is worn and not entirely clear. The interior shows the usual small pocket for the loading tool, still present. Approximate measurements: 20cm x 24cm.

Historical Note:
From 1939 onwards, most P.08 holsters were produced in blackened leather, replacing the earlier brown finish. Holsters dated 1941 represent mid-war manufacture, when production was widespread among multiple firms across Germany. E.G. Leuner of Bautzen is one of the better-recorded suppliers, with Waffenamt codes often seen as WaA159, though other inspectors were also used. The P.08 itself was being phased out in favour of the P.38 during this period, yet large numbers remained in issue throughout the war.

*Condition*
The leather shows age and service wear with creasing, surface scuffing, and some softening to the flap edges. Stitching remains largely intact, though with areas of light pulling in places. The blackened finish is worn, revealing natural brown tones beneath. Interior shows wear consistent with use, though the tool pouch remains present. Overall a good, solid example with clear wartime character. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
