*German, WW2, Leichter Granatwerfer 36 Mortar Round, (Inert)*

A well-preserved Second World War German 5 cm light mortar bomb, measuring approximately 20.5 cm tall with a 6 cm base diameter, featuring a four-fin tail assembly of cruciform form with a drilled vented stem. The bomb retains its original brass impact fuse, and the steel body shows the characteristic pebbled finish of LeGrW 36 ordnance.

Historical Note:
The 5 cm LeGrW 36 (Leichter Granatwerfer 36), developed by Rheinmetall-Borsig, equipped German infantry platoons from 1936 onwards. Compact and easy to carry, it fired a 0.9 kg high-explosive round to about 500 m. Although production ceased in 1943 in favour of heavier 8 cm weapons, the type saw widespread service in all major theatres of war — from Poland and France to North Africa and the Eastern Front.

*Condition*
Excellent inert example retaining its full tail unit and brass fuse. Stable oxidation and light pitting consistent with age; no live or hazardous components remain. A very complete display piece. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
