*German, WW2, Kriegsmarine (Navy) Officer Parade Belt Buckle - 58 mm*

The buckle is approximately 578mm in diameter and is made of injection-molded, gilt-washed aluminum alloy. It features a high-relief, embossed laurel leaf wreath outer edge that surrounds an embossed, vertically positioned, fouled anchor on a slightly domed, horizontally ribbed field. The outer edge of the buckle conforms to the shape of the laurel leaves.

On December 15th, 1921, during the Weimar era, the Reichsmarine introduced a new brocade belt and buckle that retained the basic design of the Imperial brocade belt and dress buckle but omitted the crown and "W" monogram. The reorganized Kriegsmarine continued to use the Reichsmarine brocade belt and dress buckle for Line Officers. Initially, the buckles only had a gilt finish until 1934 when a silver version was introduced for Administrative Officials with ranks equivalent to Officers. The Officer’s Administrative Officials’ belt buckle came in two sizes: a larger one with roughly a 57mm (2 1/4") diameter for wear with the brocade dress belt and a smaller one with roughly a 38mm (1 1/2") diameter for wear with the black fabric undress belt.
