Some of the most lethal weapons of World War II were land mines, which claimed the lives of thousands of soldiers and civilians. In its desperate bid for conquest, Germany deployed millions of these devices in strategic locations to slow the Allied advance and compensate for its heavy battlefield losses.

This WWII German Improvised Concrete Mine is a late-war adaptation, developed as Germany faced severe shortages of munitions. These mines were created by embedding a hand grenade in concrete, filling it with explosives, and using either a trip wire or, as in this case, a Druck pressure fuse. The fuse was simply placed on top, with its pointed end inserted into the explosive charge.

A unique and historically significant addition to any inert ordnance collection.
