The Model 5 boasts a rich and colorful history. Produced from 1931 to 1940 as the Model 5V, it has evolved over time. Diana manufactured the Model 5 air pistol from 1958 to 1978, and including the Model 5GM and P5 Magnum, its production extended until 2008.
The Model 5 is a sizable break barrel spring-piston air pistol, measuring just over 15-3/4 inches (40.3 cm) in overall length, with the barrel alone being slightly over 7 inches (18 cm). As a break barrel design, it is a single-shot pistol. This particular model is chambered in .177 caliber, though it was also available in .22. The dark brown plastic grip extends from the pistol’s stock, enclosing the entire barreled action in a single piece. It features coarse checkering throughout and includes a thumb rest on the left side. The front sight consists of a fixed tapered post within a globe, while the rear sight is a highly adjustable target-style notch.
Diana was established in 1890 by Jakob Mayer and Josef Grammelspacher. The company survived two world wars and numerous civil upheavals, as well as several crushing depressions and is till in business today.

This highly collectible original Model 5 Air Pistol is in excellent condition. It cocks and fires, though the break action is stiff. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
