*German, c.1945–50s, WW2 General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen), JFS Marked – Reproduction*

A German General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen) bearing a JFS maker mark, attributed to Josef Feix & Söhne of Gablonz. The badge is manufactured in zinc and follows the standard oval wreath design with Wehrmacht eagle clutching a rifle, as per the wartime pattern. This example is fitted with a pin-back suspension, hinged pin and hook catch to the reverse.

Measurements - Approx. 62mm x 48mm.

Historical Note:
The General Assault Badge was instituted in June 1940 to recognise Wehrmacht personnel who took part in ground combat but did not qualify for the Infantry Assault Badge. Original badges were produced by a number of manufacturers, including Josef Feix & Söhne (JFS) of Gablonz. Following the Second World War, large numbers of reproduction badges were produced in the Gablonz region using copied wartime patterns and familiar maker marks, primarily for the collectors’ market. This example falls into that post-war reproduction category.

*Condition*
Overall good condition as a collector’s reference piece. The badge shows an artificial aged finish consistent with post-war manufacture, with surface speckling to the zinc, soft detail to the strike, and reproduction-style hinge, pin and catch. No damage or repairs noted. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
