German Boesinghe, Flanders Trench Art Letter Opener

This is a trench art letter opener comprised of a .303 British bullet and some military brass. On one side, the knife features an inscription reading “Boesinghe” with a cannon and on the other, “1914 – 1917 Souvenir Ajenny, 9-1-17”. The letter opener is formed in the shape of a German soldiers head with a picklehaube helmet.

This letter opener is in very good condition with some minor wear. The tip of the blade is very slightly bent. Please see pictures for more detail.
