Rare first pattern example of the first pattern quill point sword bayonet and scabbard. This was the first bayonets produced for the Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle. The 52cm single-edge blade has a rounded, pipe-back spine above a single, narrow fuller. The ends in a double-edge quill point. A Prussian crown is stamped above the markers mark ‘Erfurt’.

*Condition*

On the whole it is in good condition. But the metal grip and blade does have some pitting marks. The leather scabbard does have an almost folding dent in the middle and minor cracking. Also the metal top of the scabbard is slightly loose. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
