~ Georgian Rounded Knop Etched Dwarf Ale Glass ~

A pleasing drinking glass with a long conical bowl, squat knopped stem and broad base with a pontil mark.

It is etched with a spray of hops to one side and barley to the other.

Ale in the 18th century was a strong drink, much like current day barley wines, and required a smaller glass than might be imagined if one was not to get drunk too quickly.

All in good order, free from chips and cracks.

~ Dimensions ~

The glass is 12.5 cm (5 inches) tall, the mouth diameter is 5.5 cm (2.25 inches).
