*George VI 1827 Pattern Royal Navy Officers Sword and Scabbard*

A George VI 1827 Pattern Naval Officers sword, the 79.5cm straight single edged fullered blade acid etched with a crowned GR VI cypher.  On the obverse a crowned fouled anchor followed by the Royal Coat of Arms for the United Kingdom with "Dieu et Mon Droit" (God and my Right). Below the coat of arms an inset brass proof mark and on the forte "S". A gothic gilt brass hilt with with folding guard with a single quillion, wire bound fish skin/shagreen grip and lions head pommel and bullion thread sword knot. Gilt brass mounted black leather scabbard with double suspension loops. Blade length 79.5cm.

*Condition*
The sword is in excellent condition. There is some brass polish residue on the brass but otherwise the grip is in excellent condition. The blade is mostly bright and clear with some minor age related markings. There is some wear to the sword knot. The first brass mounting on the scabbard is loose and there a few minor nicks to the leather. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
