Spain, 1927, Medal for Peace in Northern Morocco (Paz 1909-1927)
Established by a Royal Decree on November 21, 1927, this medal commemorated the end of military action in Northern Morocco. Awarded to Spanish and French troops who helped establish control over the Rif region, it was struck in steel with a bluish patina. The medal is oval, featuring a dove with an olive branch and a royal crown. The obverse shows the inscription "MARRUECOS" within a crescent moon and "PAZ 1909-1927" beneath a Moroccan town scene. The reverse reads: "ESPANA, SIEMPRE DISPUESTA A TODA EMPRESA DE CIVILIZACION UNIVERSAL...," highlighting Spain's contributions to Morocco. The medal's ribbon is white with red, yellow, and dark green stripes and includes a six-sided star. There is also an unofficial French version.
Medaille Commorative Du Liban - French Lebanon Campaign Medal 1925-1927
Issued by the Lebanon Government to French troops, this medal commemorates campaigns in Lebanon from 1925-1927, including the Druze Rebellion and the Great Syrian Uprising. The obverse bears an upright palm branch with crossed swords and the inscription "Pour La Liban" in both Latin and Arabic script. The reverse depicts a mountain scene with a setting sun.
Médaille Coloniale - French Colonial Medal with Clasps Maroc & Maroc 1925-1926
Created in 1893, the French Colonial Medal rewarded military service in colonies. The 30mm silver medal features the helmeted effigy of the Republic on the obverse and a world map on the reverse. The ribbon is white and blue with vertical stripes.
Order of Ouissam Alaouite (الوسام العلوي الشريف) - Knight, c1934
This Moroccan military decoration, established on January 11, 1913, recognizes heroism in combat and meritorious service. Awarded in five classes Grand Cross (Grand Croix), Grand Officer (Grand Officier), Commander (Commandeur), Officer (Officier) and Knight (Chevalier), it features an Arabic inscription translating to "His Majesty Youssef." The ribbon was updated in 1934 to include white stripes on each side of the original orange.
