This fine watercolour on paper by Colin M. Baxter (British, Master Mariner, born 1963) depicts a contemporary view of Porchester Castle with a sailing barge and modern smaller vessels to the fore. It is signed to the lower left. The painting is well presented in a wooden frame which is glazed and has double lined mounts.
Porchester Castle on the South coast of Hampshire is the best preserved Roman castle in Northern Europe.
