*Framed Display of 33 Pistol and Revolver Cartridges, Inert*

A superb framed ammunition display titled “Pistol and Revolver Ammunition”, containing 33 examples of pistol and revolver cartridges and bullet types ranging from small rimfire rounds to powerful magnum calibres. Each cartridge is mounted behind glass with identifying labels, forming a comprehensive visual reference to 20th-century handgun ammunition.

The top two rows display complete cartridges from the .22 rimfire to the .50 calibre class, while the lower row presents representative bullet designs and a sectioned .45 cartridge showing internal construction. The cartridges appear to be genuine inert specimens, easily removable from the board.

Historical Note:
Educational and reference displays of this type became popular among collectors, gunsmiths, and sporting-goods retailers during the mid- to late-20th century. This example includes several significant modern pistol rounds introduced between the 1960s and 1980s, notably the .40 S&W (1990), 10mm Auto (1983), .454 Casull (1957 commercialised later), .475 Wildey (1984), and .50 Action Express (1988). The presence of both American and European designs, from the German 9mm Luger to the British .455 Webley, makes this a particularly comprehensive visual timeline of handgun cartridge development.
