~ Fine Victorian Miniature Portrait On Porcelain Of Regine Daxenberger ~

Regina Daxenberger was the daughter of coppersmith Matthäus Daxenberger. King Ludwig considered her so beautiful that he arranged for her open a royal ball on the arm of Duke Maximillian of Bavaria, accompanied by the first four royal couples. She married Cabinet Secretary Fahrmbacher in 1832.

This miniature is after the painting completed by Joseph Stieler in 1829 when Regina was 18 years old. She wears the traditional Munich headdress.

It is signed to the lower right, possibly J. Crutz.
