~ Exceptional Mahogany Boer War Campaign Writing Desk To The 5th Royal Irish Lancers ~
The desk neatly folds up. With the key, the lock is release and the desk reveals its inner glory. Inside are brown leather fittings for storing letters, pens and stamps etc. as well as a brass inkwell.
The desk was originally owned by C. Taylor of the 5th Royal Irish Lancers, he fought in the 2nd Boer War. We know this as the desk came with his tropical service helmet (now sold) and his later named Chief Yeoman Warder's hat and cap badge.

Pease refer to the images for the condition. The lock is temporamental but has its key, otherwise fine.

The desk when upfolded is 62 cm (24.5 inches) wide, 62 cm (24.5 inches) deep and 79cm (31 inches) tall.
