The Madsen M-50 (or M/50) is a submachine gun introduced in 1950 and manufactured by Dansk Industri Syndikat, a Danish company based in Copenhagen. Often referred to as "Madsen" after its founder, Vilhelm Herman Oluf Madsen, the company was well-known for its firearm innovations. The M/50 was an evolution of the earlier M/46, with its most notable improvement being a simplified retracting stock. It was officially introduced at Mosede Fort between November 7, 1950, and 1953.

The M/50 is constructed from stamped sheet metal and features an open-bolt mechanism, meaning it fires when the bolt is locked back in the open position. It fires in full-auto mode only and incorporates a grip safety lever positioned in front of the magazine housing—an unusual placement. It shares a distinctive design with the M/46: the receiver is made from two stamped sheet metal halves, shaped to include an integral rear pistol grip and magazine housing. These halves fit together like a clamshell, hinged at the rear of the pistol grip, and are secured with a barrel locking nut threaded onto the front section of the receiver. The firearm is equipped with a folding stock made of tubular steel covered in leather, which folds onto the right side of the weapon.

The M/50's combination of simplicity, unique design, and robust construction made it a notable submachine gun of its era.

Good used condition. It is deactivated and the bolt moves but does not engage. The magazine can be removed. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
