The breech is marked for Waffenwerke Oberndorf Mauser 1916 with other non-matching part numbers.

It comes with the very rare end cap and its leather sling.

The piece comes with its deactivation certificate and is serial numbered 4459.

~ Gewehr 98 ~

The Gewehr 98 (abbreviated G98, Gew 98, or M98) was a German bolt action rifle made by Mauser firing cartridges from a 5-round internal clip-loaded magazine. It was the German service rifle from 1898 to 1935, when it was replaced by the Karabiner 98k, a shorter weapon using the same basic design.

~ Condition ~

It action works smoothly as does the rear ladder site. The stock is excellent, no loss or splits, just some minor bruising from service wear. The metal work is in good order.
