The opalescent piece was originally designed in 1942 and was originally issued between 1942 and 1947.

A later version was released c1960, with the figurine mounted on a square black base.

This example is one of three coloured versions introduced even later by Marie-Claude Lalique (René Lalique's granddaughter).
