This is a Carl Thieme round bottom vase from Potschappel in the Dresden area of Germany. The vase is encrusted in applied porcelain flowers in a multitude of colours.

It also has two hand painted scenes: on one side a scene of a courting couple and a display of flowers on the other.

The top and base have gilt outlines.

The date mark of a T over an X was used from 1888 to 1901.

~ Condition ~

There are no losses or damage to the porcelain flowers apart from very minor nibbles. There is some wear to the gilt. The piece is in general excellent condition.

~ Dimensions ~

The vase is 30 cm (11.75 inches) tall with a maximum diameter of 17 cm (6.75 inches).
