Here we have something incredibly rare, a cavalry parade pickelhaube of the Wurttemberg state forces. This would have been worn whilst on parade on horseback.
The helmet has a black leather skull, with rimmed front visor and non-vented rear spine.
The gilt plate consists of an enamel depiction of the Wurttemberg coat of arms on the front, over a banner reading " Furchtlos und trew " (Fearless and loyal).
It is complete with its leather and fabric liner.
~ Dimensions ~
The helmet is 14 inches (36 cm) tall.
The helmet is 7 inches (18 cm) across the headband.
The helmet weighs 615g.
~ Condition ~
Aside from some general ageing to the leather and some wear to the gilt badge the helmet is in excellent condition for its age.
