~ Circa 1890 Late Victorian Single Fusee Four Pillar Movement By Dent 4 Royal Exchange London ~

This excellent timepiece has a mahogany case with lockable underside door and a side door as well. The white enamelled dial has a brass bezel and silvered brass sighting ring. The hands are of steel and it has Roman numerals. It is signed for the esteemed horologist Dent of 4 Royal Exchange London and is numbered 33108.

The 8 day movement is a single fusee four pillar one. It comes with its pendulum and keys.

The Dent name is perhaps most well known for being the maker of the Great Clock of the Houses of Parliament known as Big Ben, installed in 1859. Dent was also Clockmaker to Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales.

The clock surround is 37 cm (14.5 inches) in diameter with a 29 cm (11.5 inches) dial.
