A fine example of a Victorian skeleton clock, dated to Circa 1850.

The clock has a single chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and passing strike on the bell.

The scroll frames are joined by four ring-turned pillars and are placed in a brass case with glass windows and a wooden base. The top of the case features a monkey, in horse hunting clothing, holding a hunting horn.

It has the feel of a British colonial Indian piece, the type that would be held at a hunting club.

It comes with a winding key. A rare and unique piece.

~ Dimensions ~

The base has a length of 12 inches (30.5cm) and a width of 8 inches (20cm). The case has a height of 20.5 inches (52cm) and weighs 5.45kg.

~ Condition ~

The clock is in a overall good condition. It has been recently serviced and runs well. The white on the face is flaked in places. The case remains in a excellent condition with little wear to the brass. A fine example.
