~ Circa 1800 Blue & Gilt Naval Sabre ~

A well balanced British Royal Navy officers sabre from the Napoleonic wars.

The gently curved blade has a near full length single fuller. It is blue along the top third with five gilt panels including a stand of arms.

The grip is of wired ebonised wood.

~ Condition ~

Generally in good order for its age. The wire on the grip is a little loose. The blade has seen some active use as there are nicks to the edge. The bluing is very reasonable, the gilding is worn on one side. There is no scabbard.

~ Dimensions ~

The total length is 95 cm (37.5 inches). blade is 82 cm (32.5 inches) in length. It weighs 0.69 Kg.
