Circa 1790 Large Box Lock Pistol By Bond

Availability: Out of stock

SKU: MLJA_396347996 Category:

Here we have a rather interesting piece, the largest muff pistol I have ever seen, not only in size but in bore.

The pistol was made by Bond who we know was operating in London in 1798 and is made to an incredibly high standard, being absolutely beautiful and functional with a safety catch, a reinforced hammer and a self operating folding trigger.

The pistol has a solid fixed barrel with the remains of the London proof marks and the London and Bond marks are clearly engraved into the side.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel is 5 inches (13 cm) long.

The pistol is 10 inches (25.5 cm) long.

The pistol weighs 545g.

~ Condition ~

The pistol is in very good condition for its age with a nice aged patina but clear markings and a good finish to the wood. The mechanism works well.
