~ Circa 1760 Powder Horn Depicting New York And A Map Of The Hudson River ~

The fine powder horn, a British piece, is etched with the British Royal coat of arms. It also depicts the settlement of New York, a map of the Hudson river and a beaver.

'VII' is engraved on the mouths end.

The owners details are given in a cartouche "Wm (William) Gill His Horn Pass On".

It comes with its stopper.

~ Condition ~

The horn is in good order, structurally sound and with just one short split by the mouth.

~ Dimensions ~

The powder horn is 37 cm (14.5 inches) in total length with a maximum diameter of 7 cm (2.75 inches).
