~ Circa 1760 Original Scottish Town Guard Axe ~

The axe has a stout steel head and wooden shaft with a steel end pommel.

The shaft is painted in white "Lochaber Aberdeen Town Guard 1760".

~ Condition ~

The blade is quite pitted and there are minor nicks to its edge. The shaft is in good order.

~ Dimensions ~

The axe is 150 cm (49 inches) in length with a 43 cm (17 inches) blade.
