~ Chinese Qing Period Nephrite Jade Turtle Carapace Belt Decoration ~

This beautiful rectangular jade belt decoration/buckle is very finely carved to one side in the form of the carapace of a turtle.

The jade is an opaque mottled grey colour, almost marble like in appearance.

It is dated to the Qing period or earlier.

~ Dimensions ~

The buckle has a height of 3.4 inches (8.7 cm), a width of 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) & a depth of 0.8 inches (2 cm).

It weighs 125 g.

The jade is in excellent condition.
