A nice cased set of four sterling silver salts dating to 1884.
The salts are of oval form with fluted decoration sitting on flared feet.
They each have their original blue glass liners.
The salts are hallmarked for London silver, 1884 with a makers mark of 'JATS' for John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater.
They are also marked with stamps of a mans profile and a dragons head which will be some kind of foreign import/export mark but we have not been able to identify from where.
The set comes in its original octagonal form hard case with velvet and silk lining.
~ Dimensions ~
The salts each measure 7.5cm by 4.5cm with a height of 3.5cm.
The case measures 19cm (7 ½ inches) by 6cm (2 ¼ inches).
The cased set weighs 555g.
~ Condition ~
The silver has quite a bit of tarnish in parts, especially to the insides.
