~ c1830/40 Early Victorian Royal Navy Master of Arms Dress Sword with Scabbard, Knot and Sword Belt ~

This is a subtle variation on the 1827 pattern sword as the blade is slightly curved.

The blade is also bi-fullered, it has the faint remains of the original etching and a proof mark at the base of the blade.

The hilt is made of gilded brass and is decorated with the fouled anchor.

The grip is made of black wired shagreen.

The sword comes with its brass and black leather scabbard,, knot and sword belt with hangers.

~ Condition ~

The blade darkened, and developed some surface rust.

The grip is complete with the expected age wear.

The scabbard is missing its lower end but the leather and its remaining brass fittings remain in good condition,

The sword belt is complete but has aged and the stamp on its back is not clearly visible. The buckle lost its gild.

The sword knot is frayed a little at point of attachment to grip.
