C1800 Blue And Gilt Sword Cane Marked To The Queens Royal Regiment

Here we have something spectacular, a sword cane we can date to 1800 with beautiful blue and gilt spadroon style blade.

The sword itself is a single edged blade that appears to be similar to the delicate forms of court sword or dress 1796 infantry sword with a solid back edge, a sharply tapering point and a single cutting edge, what makes this special is the fact that it has been beautifully blued and gilt (which aids in dating since this fell out of fashion in the early to mid 1820’s in Britain) and the badge that has been attached a crowned “2” signifying the 2nd Regiment of Foot.

The sword is housed in a bamboo and brass finished cane.

This is an incredibly quirky piece that would go well in a collection of walking sticks or militaria.
