*British, WW2, Miniature Medal Group: 1939–45 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star with Pacific Clasp, Italy Star, Defence Medal & War Medal*

A mounted miniature medal group representing service during the Second World War, comprising six miniature medals mounted on a traditional bar with pin fitting to the reverse.

The group consists of:
1939–1945 Star
Africa Star
Burma Star with “PACIFIC” clasp
Italy Star
Defence Medal (1939–1945)
War Medal (1939–1945)

The four campaign stars retain their original gilt finish with crowned G.R.I. cypher centres. The Burma Star ribbon carries the “PACIFIC” clasp, indicating the recipient qualified for both the Burma Star and the Pacific Star; under the award regulations only one of the two stars was issued, with the second theatre recognised by a clasp.

The final two medals are the standard Defence Medal and War Medal, both bearing the portrait of King George VI. The group is neatly court-mounted for wear with mess dress or formal uniform, with stitched ribbons and a pin fitting to the reverse.

History Note:
Miniature medal groups such as this were worn on mess dress or evening uniform by British and Commonwealth servicemen entitled to campaign awards.

The medals represented in this group reflect service across several major theatres of the Second World War:
1939–45 Star – operational service during the war.
Africa Star – North African campaigns between 1940 and 1943.
Burma Star – service in the Burma campaign against Japanese forces.
Pacific Clasp – indicates qualification for the Pacific Star in addition to the Burma Star.
Italy Star – campaign in Sicily and mainland Italy from 1943–1945.
Defence Medal – awarded for qualifying non-operational service.
War Medal 1939–1945 – awarded to all full-time personnel completing 28 days service during the war.

Such combinations are commonly associated with British and Commonwealth personnel who served in multiple overseas theatres during the later stages of the war.

*Condition*
Good overall condition. The gilt campaign stars retain strong finish with minor surface wear. The Defence and War Medals show age-related toning and surface wear. Ribbons show light fraying and age. Mounting bar and pin remain intact and functional. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
