*British, WW2, Military Whistle with Lanyard, Dated 1945, by J. Hudson & Co., Birmingham*

A classic British military service whistle, dated 1945, manufactured by the renowned firm J. Hudson & Co., Birmingham. This example is clearly marked on the body:

J. HUDSON & Co.
BIRMINGHAM
1945

The broad arrow stamp confirms it as official British government (War Department) issue.

These whistles were standard equipment for British officers, NCOs, and military police, widely used for command, signalling, and control on parade grounds or in the field. Made from nickel-plated brass, this piece measures approximately 8.2 cm in length including the loop. It is accompanied by its original woven cord lanyard, a desirable feature as these are often missing.

Background:
J. Hudson & Co. (later known for their famous "Acme" whistles) was a key supplier to British forces from the Victorian era through both World Wars. The 1945 date places this example towards the end of WWII, making it a historically interesting piece for collectors of militaria, especially those focusing on WWII British equipment.

*Condition*
Good overall condition with light wear and small surface marks consistent with age and service use. The nickel finish remains largely intact. The whistle functions correctly and has a strong, sharp tone. The cord shows some soiling and signs of wear but remains sturdy and complete. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
