*British, WW2, 1939–1945, War Medal with Original Ribbon, Boxed with Original Issue Slip and Entitlement Leaflet*

This is a fine and complete example of the British War Medal 1939–1945, awarded to all full-time personnel of the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy who served at least 28 days during WWII. Struck in cupro-nickel, the medal features the crowned effigy of King George VI on the obverse, and a lion standing triumphantly over a double-headed dragon symbolising the defeated Axis powers on the reverse. It is suspended from the original ribbon in red, white, and blue — representing the colours of the Union Flag.

This set includes:
The original medal in excellent condition
Official card box of issue, with crown print to lid
Original tissue and waxed paper wrapping
Ministry of War compliments slip, issued by command of the Army Council
Campaign entitlement leaflet listing the 1939–45 campaign stars, clasps and medals

The box retains its original buff paper tape and features a faint inspector's or packing station mark to the base. A pencilled code (“P43”) is also visible on the inside of the lid, likely an internal reference used during wartime distribution. These details support the medal’s authenticity and originality.

The box measures approx. 5.7cm x 8.5cm x 1cm.

*Condition*
Medal is bright with sharp detail and a good ribbon. Paperwork is complete and well-preserved. The card box shows age-related wear and tape residue but remains structurally sound. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
