*British, WW1, Territorial Efficiency Medal - 3rd Issue, Awarded to: SJT. George W. Robinson, 7th Northumberland Fusiliers 4258373"
Established in 1908, the Territorial Efficiency Medal was a United Kingdom distinction recognizing long service in the Territorial Army. It replaced the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal when the Territorial Force transitioned to the Territorial Army in 1921 and was subsequently succeeded by the Efficiency Medal in 1930. This is the third issue of this medal, featuring the effigy of King George V and includes a fixed ring and a shorter legend, now reading 'Territorial Efficiency Medal' instead of the previous 'Territorial Force Efficiency Medal'. This alteration occurred after the Territorial Force became the Territorial Army in 1921.
This silver oval medal was granted to 'efficient' NCOs and Other Ranks of the Territorial Force who completed twelve years of service and participated in twelve annual trainings.
