*British, WW1, Royal Field Artillery Postcard, with embossed badge, verse and vignette; from a son to his mother before departing for the front, 1916.*
This is a poignant WW1 postcard from a son to his mother before departing for the front. The card features an embossed gold coloured badge of the regiment with a verse about the regiment and a nice vignette. The caption is "From One of the R.F.A.".
Stamped "22nd Jul, Woolwich". Sent to an unclear address in Oxon.
He writes:
"Sat 22nd 1916
Dear Mother,
Just a line to say we are going to start away for France on Sunday so it wont any good to rite to at this place again. I will rite again soon if I can, I don't think is any more now. From your ever loving son Henry xxxxxxxxxxx"
