*British, William Rodgers “I Cut My Way” Sheffield Stag-Handled Hunting Knife with Original Leather Sheath*

A vintage fixed-blade hunting knife made by William Rodgers of Sheffield, England, bearing the etched motto “I Cut My Way” and marked “Made in Sheffield, England” on the ricasso. William Rodgers was a well-known Sheffield cutler, especially active during the mid-20th century, producing both military and civilian edged tools.

This example features a clip-point blade measuring approximately 14.8cm, with an overall length of 26cm. The grip is made from stag antler, complemented by stacked fibre and brass spacers, with a cast aluminium pommel secured by a recessed nut and washer. The guard is simple brass, and the overall design reflects the sturdy, functional style of postwar Sheffield hunting knives from the 1950s–60s.

The knife comes housed in its original leather sheath, unmarked but well-fitted and constructed with belt slits for horizontal carry. The sheath is complete, with intact stitching and no brass fittings.

*Condition*
The blade shows age-related spotting and pitting but retains a good edge and tip. The stag handle is solid with no looseness, and the spacers remain tight and undamaged. The aluminium pommel shows minor wear consistent with age and use. The sheath is complete and structurally sound, with visible scuffs and surface wear consistent with age, but no major damage or repair. Please refer to photographs as part of the condition report.
