The Webley & Scott Revolver is an iconic firearm that emerged in the late 19th century and became a symbol of British military and police forces for over a century. Notable for its distinctive top-break design, it allowed for swift reloading by hinging the barrel and cylinder, reducing downtime in combat.

Originally, the Webley was chambered in .455 but at the end of the First World War, the British military decided that this calibre of gun and cartridge was too large for modern military use. Consequently, after numerous tests and extensive trials, they concluded that a .38 calibre gun firing a 200-grain (13 g) bullet would be just as effective as the .455 for stopping an enemy. This, ultimately, was what led to the creation of the Mk IV .38. These guns were so effective that they were used extensively throughout World War 2 and continued production until 1978.

This gun is deactivated to the old specification and is able to cock and dry-fire and the top break works as intended. SN. B29222
