British Vickers Machine Gun Canvas Belt With Inert .303 Ammunition. 250 round capacity canvas belt.

This is a 250 round ammunition belt for the Vickers machine gun. The .303 inch Vickers machine gun was the British Army's primary heavy machine gun during World War One (1914-1918). Famed for its reliability, it could fire over 600 rounds per minute and had a range of 4,500 yards. It was fed by fabric belts of ammunition. The gun’s mechanism pulled each round backwards out of the belt before chambering and firing it.
