*British, Royal Navy, 3 Copper Lipped Rum Measures, 1/2 Pint by Burt Bros, Birmingham, 1955; Pint by Gaskell & Chambers and 1/2 Gallon unmarked*

Presenting three exceptional Royal Navy Lipped Rum Measures. The precision of 'Lipped' measures was favored over round ones.

Until 1912/13, 'Broad arrows' were applied to 'lipped' measures. Starting in the 1950s, manufacturers marks were added along with Vocabulary numbers, used for Naval stores item identification. Consequently, there is a roughly 40-year period where RN measures lacked markings.

All naval rum measures, whether 'lipped' or 'round,' had their interiors and the inner surface of the lip 'tinned.'

Half Pint Measure, marked on the base with Vocabulary No "53153," made by "Burt Bros, Birmingham, 1955." The lip bears verification marks: Crown Cypher over ER over 6, 2 over 55. The lip is fully tinned, featuring a seamless rounded handle that tapers, with a correct handle fixing.

One Pint Measure, maker marked on the base with a Tap and Barrel representing Gaskell & Chambers. The lip is tinned, featuring a seamless rounded handle that does not taper, with a correct handle fixing.

Half Gallon, not maker marked. The shape is correct, with a tinned lip and a seamed rounded handle that tapers, following the Burt Bros style.

*Condition*
These Measures are in excellent condition. Commensurate with their age and service, they bear small dings and have a wonderful patina. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
